Is it possible to study in Canada without IELTS?

This is a big and very common question asked by many study abroad aspirants and maximum times the answer that they get is that you need specific IELTS band score to study in Canadian universities by  top 10 ielts institute in chandigarh This answer can be disheartening and discouraging for students who wish to pursue their higher education in Canada but are not able to get IELTS scores due to some reason. I wish to inform all such young people that there is hope for them too as IELTS is not mandatory to study in Canada as there are educational places who do give exemption to international students for IELTS and offer them admission in their courses.

Before moving forward, first let’s know the reasons behind unwillingness to take the IELTS test by aspirants:

·         The IELTS test is quite expensive and many people do not want to spend that much on a test which is not directly related to the subjects they have to study. In India at present the cost for this test is 17K. Sometimes students are not able to get the desired bands in the first attempt, in that case spending the same amount again to take the test seems too much, therefore students do not want to get into that at all.

·         This test is time consuming and one needs to keep one complete day free for the LRW (Listening, Reading & Writing) test and another for Speaking as per the appointment which is not sometimes feasible for people as they have to adjust their schedules for that. Also, sitting for three long hours to take the test and coming 2 and a half hours before that for document verification is too much for many students.

·         The result of the test comes very late; for paper based test which is the highest attempted test the results are declared in 13 days which is a long time. However, for the CD-IELTS you get that in 3-4 days but not everyone is that computer proficient to take the computer delivered test.

·         The tests are corrected by human examiners and that is why sometimes people doubt that they got what they deserve and so there are questions on the human factor, though that is not relevant but people have right to have their opinions.
